Steven Fennell worked on several projects of all genres over the last 30 years. Jeff and John Murphy from "Shoes" produced and
released "Roc Sinatra " and Herb Eimerman's solo projects which influenced Steven in every aspect of his music career. The production style featured lyrical storytelling, layered background vocals, unique guitar sounds and full body dynamic song structure that would eventually be the signature sound for what later became AFTER ALICE.
Steven was frustrated of the fact that he couldn’t find the right people and the right sound, he was ready to retire at the end of 2013. After meeting Jason Crowden, lead singer and guitarist from Shinebox, we both knew this project was something special. Our personalities were the perfect match and allowed both of our creative talents to be pushed to the limit. Jason's outstanding vocals, song writing and unique guitar style, along with Stevens’s production and unique drumming style, became After Alice.
Their debut album " Memories " featuring Alternative Rock / Power Pop was produced by Steven Fennell and final remixed by TM Garret and Adam Hill at world famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Ardent has been home to numerous world class acts in the past and has worked with ZZ Top, Big Star, The Box Tops, Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker, The Allman Brothers, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Otis Redding, Tanya Tucker, Montgomery Gentry, Mark Chesnutt, Steve Earle, The White Stripes, Cliff Richard, Klaus Voormann, Soundgarden, Bob Dylan, Ike and Tina Turner, Evanescence, R.E.M., Joe Walsh, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, The Hooters and many, many more.
