Tim St. Clair is an independent singer/ songwriter from Texas. Music has always been his passion. He remembers listening to songs on the radio with his father.

His dad told him if he could write better songs than what we heard – than do it. He has passed on now but his words still stuck with him. In the last several years Tim took on his passion and his challenge and began writing and singing his own songs. The songs Tim writes are like life, they fall in all different directions.  There are relationship songs that express the love and care of another. There is a song of deep loss and gratitude. There is a song about taking chances in others. Tim hopes that ya’ll find the simple messages of love, loss and understandings. These songs are expressions of emotions, feelings and life lessons captured and expressed.

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?

Having my music listed under Folk genre- I feel gives me a more of a vast and lest limiting range of artistic expression. I feel my sound includes some southern rock, country, maybe a little pop and a touch of gospel.

How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

My parents named me Timothy - from the Bible - Thinking this may deter me from being a bad kid.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?

I enjoy so many different types and genre's of music - The 80's sounds and originality. With my music I avoid trying to sound like any other artist, I feel everyone has their own sound - originality I believe is important for any true artist, regardless of what your creativity may be.

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

I was just at the studio today and should have a new release coming out in another month- I have had 3 New songs Released in the last month.

This year has been Great for me and looking forward to the future!

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?

My goal is to have my songs played around the world, and so far I know they have been played in 11 different countries in the last year. The hard work that I do today will accomplish my goals for the future. As an independent I am very grateful for radio stations like yours and the opportunities that you provide for artists such as myself.

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

My favorite track to perform is the one the audience has the best reaction - sometimes its Stripped Down Man, other times its the Sinner

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

Avoiding all the negative obstacles and staying focused on doing what I need to do to be successful are the most constant challenges. It may seem like that should be easy but Obstacles are everywhere!

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

My songwriting process always starts with an Idea, creative phrase, or daily mood.

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

Social media has played no influence, my social media experience has been merely used for exposure. Social media, I have found to be educational - in a trial and error manner. In the future I hope to have a more developed social media platform.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?

When I was younger I worked for my fathers construction company ( all across the country). I joined the military - no complaints. There were several businesses I've worked in the Insurance, Banking, Automotive and Medical industries. My passion for music has always seemed out of reach....

Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?

Seems like you can find lyrics of insight from many different groups - Kid Rock waiting for one of these Mother Fukn songs to hit, Nickelback -sing em every night so I don't get em wrong, ACDC - Its a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

At this point I would say to stay determined, but if its not your passion - find something else.

What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?

In order to change something you should have an intelligent understanding of the operation. As an independent artist - I know what I want. What I would love is to have more insight on how to develop faster exposure. When I look around I see artists like Cody Jinks doing his own thing and wonder if going through major labels are still the best way to go for someone new if you can develop your own exposure.

How Do You Feel About Originality?

Sounding or saying something by another is a great form of flattery and very complimentary. My songs are all original and my sound is not replicated from another artist. I greatly enjoy so many different genres and songs of other artists but choose to not try and sound like them. Me being original is more about being true to myself- also true in my expression and message.

Is There Anything Else We Should Know About You Or That You Would Like to Add?

I may not say it enough but I Greatly Appreciate all the blessings in my life and everything that has made me who I am. I try to not take anything for granted - Thank you for all of the interests as to who I am.
