Oakley Boyd is an Australian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer. Oakley has released one album and two singles his debut, Happy Days (2019), Just Wanna Go Home (2019) and Somethin New (2019).

What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
I would probably have to say indie rock or indie alternative cause I tend to switch up my vibe quite a-bit on songs and, I feel both those genres have quite a-bit of leeway on them.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
I have a lot of musical influences but the main one would have to be Mac DeMarco. Ever since I watched his video of him making his ep "Another One" I've wanted to make music of my own, something about it looked so fun and expressive so from then on I started writing my own stuff and teaching myself skills to help.

Currently I am working on an ep to release very soon but, I am also dropping a new single next month the date hasn't been decided yet,
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
Just make music and put it out there and play some gigs, if it goes somewhere that would be incredible but if not then I'm still gonna make tracks and release them I just really like making music.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
Monkeys In A Tree. There is just such an amazing energy from everyone in that song including my backing band it's just unreal!
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?
Probably putting myself in the spotlight it's a weird sensation to get use to but after you do it's amazing, there's something so rewarding about playing to an audience and actually capturing them in the moment.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
Normally I lay out the chords or have a topic in mind. Then I sing melodys over the chords till I get something catchy, then I just keep adding layers to the song as I see fit throw in some drums and percussion, get some bass just whatever comes to mind.
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
Not a whole lot I just kinda use it to spread the word about new music which is very handy to have that tool. But other then that not a lot.

Ben Folds Five, Anderson Paak, Homeshake, Mac DeMarco, Elliot Smith, Beastie Boys, Brockhampton, Mac Miller, Primus and a lot more but I'll stop there.
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I used to play heaps of games in my spare time, probably an unhealthy amount but hey I'm alright today!
