Alchemy Divine is an Italo-German Rock band based in Milan, Italy. The group has been around since 2005 and has evolved into an artistic collaboration, sparking the initial drafts of the songs which have
now become their repertoire. They place no restrictions on their approach to composition which has led to being a musical laboratory always in search of new elements to blend and to confirm their style.
What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound? The first question is really a tough one.. It is very difficult to label us to one musical genre. When listening to our records you will quickly find out that we don't adhere to a particular genre which is part of our concept when writing songs. Our music is ranging from Rock to Pop to melodic ballads. This is due to our musical influences when starting getting interested in music. We have a lot of common ground when it comes to bands or artists we like. Let's say we decided to not limit ourselves by playing only one particular musical genre. It makes it more interesting. You will never know what you encounter when listening to our records. Furthermore we always make sure that every song is different and unique in its own way.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
We did the "unforgivable" mistake to call us first Alchemy. The name was very common and a lot of bands used that name, especially some Dire Straits tribute bands. In the beginning we were not aware that we've made a bad choice. It has legal implications especially when bands are protecting their band name. So we were forced to come up with a new name to set us apart from all the other bands. We wanted to maintain Alchemy so we needed to come up with a second name and we ended up with Alchemy Divine. It should have been Divine Alchemy but we turned that around just to make sure no one would choose the same name.
What Are or Have been Your Musical Influences?
The list is long and endlless. Just to name a few common artists and bands who have influenced us are: Queen, Journey, Gino Vanelli , Saga, ACDC, Van Halen, Deep Purple, David Bowie, Rush, The Tubes, Depeche Mode, King Crimson, Yes, Frank Zappa, Iron Maiden, Devin Townsend and the list goes on and on.
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
We have just released our new record "Secrets" which includes 11 new tracks. We are very much satisfied with the outcome of the recording and it's overall sound. It is a typical Alchemy Divine record a symbiosis between rock, pop with a particular attention to melody. Each song is different and unique on it's own. We paid as always a lot of attention to details like effects on the main vocals. The balance of each instrument in the song is important it creates dynamics and a certain sense of space. We are really happy with our new release.
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
Our goal is to enlarge and increase our fanbase. by promoting ourselves as best as we can. Bear in mind that we are an Independent artist. which makes it a lot more difficult to get the word out. As for the action. We are cooperating together with people we have cooperated with in the past. We are doing some radio promotion releasing interviews the usual stuff.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

- Increasing our fanbase and selling our music . . . it is tough to promote yourself when your budget is limited.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
Well Mauri is writing all the music at home. We are not writing during our rehearsing sessions. At first there is an instrumental blueprint which is mostly well structured from the beginning. It is easy to figure out which instrumental part will be used for the verse and which one for the chorus. The lyrics are them being written specifically to the blueprint of the song. Sometimes we are doing the other way around. First there is the main vocal melody and the lyrics and Mauri is writing the music specifically for the main vocal melody. It depends on the situation we can work either way.
After that we are recording a first demo version of the song which we often use until we are recording the final version. It is a perfect symbiosis everyone is doing his specific task there are no ego trips
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
No we wouldn't say that it has influenced our career. Social media is a tool to communicate with people all over the world and as such we are using this tool to share our music.
