When one can listen to a band and later on in life one can go back to that band and pertain to one's life again, then that is the impact we are going for! What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?

Alternative Hard Rock.

How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

It was originally Blind Messiah with an old guitarist that we had, but we lost him due to addiction. So we wrote a song called Rebel without a clue, and we already knew we wanted to name it something with Martyrs involved; so after cogitating for awhile, Martyrs For Rebellion came to fruition and it stuck.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?

Tool; Chevelle, Deftones, and Breaking Benjamin for Mike the bassist and I Daniel love Underground influencers such as punk rock bands, metal bands, R&B, to pop. Classical is a huge part of us too. Vast array of influences. Newfound Glory to Erra, to Shoffy. We have a lot of musical influences!

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

We are producing are second album Descension. It’s an 8 song EP. We want to release it by June 9th or sometime in the summer. We are also working on our Podcast known as MFR Podcast. We have 4 in the series; you can check that out on Spotify. We would love to collaborate with hip hop artists, RNB artists, to pop and rock. Basically anyone with great fervor.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?

We are getting our marketing up online and seeking out people to help us on the way be it musical equipment to PR. Networking with other musicians and labels to get heard. Ultimate goal would be to tour the world with established bands and underground bands as well. Definitely tour on our own one day! We want to help people; that is our biggest mission. So if our talent can get us to that platform, then we continue being diligent!

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

Mike-Crack in the Sky because it’s energetic and it is an explosive energy that makes the ground shake.

Daniel-Silence is Golden because while all the songs mean everything to me, this particular song in general playing live gets me going. The lyrics and how I sing it get to me.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

Targeting the right audience to get heard because it is hard via social media. Finances because one has to invest in oneself in order to make it. So that is what we are doing by researching, learning, and being prudent with our future because we know we can do this for a long time if provided the chance!

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

One of us will come up with a beat and the other will flow off the other. We call it freestyle whatever the day may be. For instance, freestyle Friday’s let say and we always press record because we never know what kind of crazy energy and freestyle will come out of it. Thank God we record every session! We have great chemistry.

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

Basically creating the podcast, to uploading on SoundCloud, and Facebook for platforming has helped us out tremendously. Also, seeking out companies to give a review or promote us. We pay for ads too. We post on Instagram of us recording. We try to utilize because one has to try, and if one believes in the music, then there is no telling what could happen. People often cut oneself short of success and it was right around the corner. We keep it going strong by not giving up because hard work pays off.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?

Daniel-Jack of all trades; I have a BS in Psychology and currently going for an MBA in Marketing. Music has always been in my life.

Mike-worked different trades, but music has always been a huge influence in my life. Whenever I was not writing music, I was listening or singing. We are both self-taught with bass and drums.

Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?

Mike-Never give up. Always be creative in what you feel. If you feel strong about your music then DIY and do what you love to do no matter who likes it or not. Do what makes you happy.

Daniel-being conscientious, prudent, diligent in life, and being humble will get you far too. Willing to grow oneself with self-knowledge is the biggest thing in life. One always needs to believe in oneself instead of following someone he or she is not. Do not envy because everyone is born with a gift; one needs to tap into that and have a growth mindset in life. Do not be afraid to be yourself and pay attention to the signs of opportunities! Do not ignore your intuition!

What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?

Definitely give musicians more of a platform because today all you hear is mainstream and what certain people deem successful rather than a truer talent. It hinders artists because it would be deemed radio friendly. We want to change that.

How Do You Feel About Originality?

It’s the real purpose in life because everyone is different and unique. Nobody wants a cover; that is why we are all different mentally and physically. Common ground is being unique. That is what being original is all about; Being You! Self-actualization rather than self-image.
