KO.ra (KO.ra Bantu) whose real name Roger Bertrand Abe is an author, composer, one singer who was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon in a Christian family. Growing up he had a difficult childhood and the childhood wounds are felt in
the songs of this tormented soul. KO.ra Bantou enrolled in the college choir and formed a band, but the choirmaster did not like his voice and never let him solo. Feeling misunderstood, he never gave up and started writing his own texts and going to known recording studios with its first models, singing competitions, (star of tomorrow), cabaret, and karaoke bars. He came to France, he took singing lessons, sang at festivals, and in 2015 he leaves "Bantou" and sang at the Charles Dullin theater, in 2016 "Angel or demon ". Several recorded songs are only waiting for music producers.
What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
It's a mix of African music, reggae, afro-Carribean, gospel, and soul music, I call it AFRIKAN'S POSOUL my sound is real and unique, i sing and write how the sky sends me melodies and words. it's KO.ra Bantou personal sound but authentic world music.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
YES... K.O. because I suffer so much in my childhood and my life generally and ra (roger abe) my real name when I joined both it gives KO.ra ( african's music instrument) and I add Bantou because I am bantou.
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
Bob Marley, Lionel Richie, Sting, Whitney Houston, the fray, African music, gospel music, old R&B music, afro-Caribbean music, soul music ( Aretha Franklin for example).
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
I have finished the recording of several songs in studios recently that are waiting for good partners (producers, disk mates, radios, televisions, turners) and others. and even compared to the two EPs that I have already released in the meantime. What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
My ultimate goal in the music industry is to be finally recognized at my true value, find a good production house that will accompany me properly, it is to be really liked for what I do and especially live of my music and touring the world.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
My favorite title with which I liked and generally like to perform LIVE ... uhhh this question is difficult because I like all my songs being singer songwriter, I replied "tiger run" and "Bantou" and finally forbidden love because these songs are so true and tell who I am, my crying, my weaknesses, my past, and my voice on when I sing them live is real strong and powerful with lots of emotions and the audience feels it too.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus far?
Decide to get into this environment with my very first EP "Bantou"? after a lot of people asked me at a festival if I had a single on the market, decided to shoot my very first clip "Hey You" decide to continue despite the meanness of some people?
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
In general I receive from God a beautiful melody and if it needs more attention the lyrics come afterwards and my songs I write once the melody head in 10 or 15 minutes.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I always made music because I started very early indeed, I sang in cabarets, bars, I did singing competitions in Cameroon, I sang in festivals, kermesses at college, do choruses for other artists, write for others ... but i worked in my mother's restaurant in africa in cameroon, in a call center and above all i did my studies and i have a master's degree in public law at a university in Tunisia.

The advice I would give to young people who want to get into the music is to be themselves with a bit of FOLIE (madness is important to move forward and stand out in this musical environment. To be patient and perseverant and to always believe in them first and in their dreams.
