What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?

We strive for ‘punchy riff rock’ but we know we have elements of soft rock and classic rock as well. We feel our sound comes from many different genres as we have all grown up with different backgrounds and influences.

How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

The term ‘Albion’ is used in ancient English history. It is used in fantasies such as Merlin and King Arthur and described as all the kingdoms uniting and coming together.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?

We’ve all grown up in various parts of England and Poland before meeting at university, as a band we enjoy music ranging from heavy metal to pop. Within our project we try to listen to modern rock even though they aren’t necessarily our influences, examples of these are mostly Greta Van Fleet, the Amazons and Maneskin,

however our main influences are Iron Maiden, Led Zepplin, Nirvana and Guns n’ Roses.

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

Right now we are working on a possible two singles. However, we are looking to start gigging and building a bigger fan base before we release more music. We are thinking that we could start looking to record an EP at the start of next year, depending on if we have reached our goals to be confident enough to do so.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?

Our goal right now is to start building a stronger, local fan base and start to expand to further cities across the country in the long run with the ultimate goal being is headlining a tour nationally or globally. Our plan of action is to carry on as we have done so far after covid and lockdowns calmed down and keep practicing, working and writing with each other every week.

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

Our favourite track right now is ‘Panicking’ because it highlights what we aim to build on within the ‘Albion’ sound. We feel it is a great base to build on and hopefully you will be able to see our progress as we release more music. We feel it highlights our unique take on rock music.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

For a new band we’ve had a lot of changes in members for a year, it’s only been very recently we settled as the final group. However, covid did have a massive factor in not being able to rehearse or record as all the facilities on university campus we’re also closed. Now we can book rehearsal rooms and studios we can now improve at a better rate, which covid unfortunately hindered.

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

We normally give and share all our ideas within our rehearsals. Usually, one of us will just starting playing either a riff, bass line, chord progression or drum beat and everyone will play over and try to find something they like as we start to build a structure and develop the song before further developing our parts at home.

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

We are lucky as we are in are growing up in an age where you can share your music to friends and family and even being able to promote our music on pages such as Instagram have helped us so far in our early development stage.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?

We mentioned we all met at university and came together through the majority of us studying music based courses, these being Max Fish (Drums), Charlie Wilson (Bass Guitar), Michal Gorecki (Lead Guitar) and Adam Pender. Will Bours, our lead singer, lived with Adam in Uni halls in our first year.

How Do You Feel About Originality?

We want to be able to stand out from the crowd, we have our own unique features we add into our songs to make it sound like we want Albion to sound like. These include: singular instrument intros, stabs and heavy vocal harmonies. We also think a big part of our originality comes from our range of influences, an example of this being how we develop our parts in songs on our own, there is always a contrast in discrete instrumental parts such as strumming patterns and melodies and how they over lay eachother in our tracks, but something we all apply through personal preference.

Is There Anything Else We Should Know About You Or That You Would Like to Add?

We can’t wait to keep practicing and developing in order to see what our potential is and how high we can set the bar for ourselves. We appreciate the support and we can be found on Spotify (Albion) and Instagram as officialalbion
